Perth Region NRM is working with all of the Local Governments in the metropolitan region to assist them to play a stronger role and become "full partners" in managing all aspects of environmental and resource management.
The main mechanism is through a Local Government Reference Group (LGRG) made up of mayors, councillors and chief executives. The LGRG has established a strategic direction and is working on a number of practical tools to assist the Local Governments become full partners.
