Swan/Canning Tributaries

Swan/Canning Tributaries

July 2009 - June 2011

This project is tasked to improve biodiversity, habitat and bank stabilisation along 8km of the Swan tributaries and Canning River. Activities are focused in priority locations as identified in the Swan Canning Tributary Foreshore Assessment Project. Weed control and revegetation are the most common activities.

Part time Project Officers at South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare and the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council link with key management stakeholders including Local Governments, WA Department of Planning and Department of Environment and Conservation and provide support to community groups and private property managers. A key component is assisting community groups in their revegetation planning and on ground activities. Project Officers also assist community groups in their funding applications.
