In close collaboration with the Department of Planning, LandCorp, Kwinana Industry Council and the City of Gosnells, Perth Region NRM has completed a comprehensive guideline to facilitate the development of new industrial estates that are more economically, environmentally and socially responsive, whilst being more resilient and adaptable now and into the future.
Entitled 'Guidelines for Industrial Development' this document, funded by the Federal Government, is structured to provide a practical step-by-step approach for the implementation of sustainability principles into the planning, design and construction phases of new industrial estates, as well as ongoing business operations.
It has been purpose designed to assist town planners, engineers, environmental scientists, architects, urban designers and land developers, and will be a valuable tool to enable Local Governments to start applying sustainability concepts to new industrial developments. The Guidelines are adaptable to fit Western Australia's planning framework and have been structured so that relevant parts can be applied as required through planning and development processes.
